In 2011 I embarked on a project composing backing tracks to existing acapella songs recorded by other artists with the working title "The World Is My Oyster", and again in 2014 with "Strangers' Fruits". Too scared and frankly lazy to enter the maze of copyright law both of these albums remained, and for the time being will remain, private (though you can always ask!).
This track originally backed a marvelous old folk tune named "Adieu To Old England" recorded by Shirley Collins. During my Brexit-rage phase I re-wrote the lyrics, removed Shirley's vocals and replaced them with mine. Altogether the new mix is not really a contender to the first Collins dub, the music stands up for itself though.
